Alector is seeking a Senior Research Associate (SRA) in Biology to join our dynamic team. This SRA will be responsible for conducting in vitro studies and analytical assays to evaluate potential therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. This role will involve in vivo and in vitro sample processing for downstream biochemical assessments, assisting in cellular and animal studies, and maintaining accurate records to support PK/PD, efficacy, safety, POC, and MOA studies.
Core Job Responsibilties
- Perform in vitro pharmacology studies in IPSC-derived cellular models (iNeurons, iMicroglia, co-and triple-culture systems)
- Collect and process biological samples (cell lysates, media, rodent brain, and other organs) for downstream analysis.
- Assist in the development and optimization of cellular disease models, including Alzheimer's disease, POC, MOA models.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, protocols, and data in electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams, including Biology, ADPE, and Preclinical groups.
We'd love to hear from you if:
- BS/MS in Neuroscience, Immunology, Biology, or a related field with 2+ years of industry research experience.
- Hands-on experience with cell culture techniques, IPSC and primary rodent neuronal cell models
- Experience with immunoblotting, ELISA, MSD, ICC, FACs, IHC
- Familiar with confocal microscopy, neurohistology techniques
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad Prism.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly adaptable and capable of adjusting to shifting priorities.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
$55 - $65 an hour
Hourly ranges will be determined by the candidate's level, qualifications, skill set, and experience.
