Job Description

The Digital Graphic Designer supports Moody Global Media's digital initiatives by creating compelling visual assets for various platforms, with a strong emphasis on social media graphics and YouTube thumbnails. This position plays a key role in maintaining the visual consistency, creativity, and storytelling impact of MGM's digital media presence.

Essential Functions

  • Create eye-catching YouTube thumbnails that increase click-through rates and align with the tone and content of each video.
  • Design visually engaging graphics for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Substack, LinkedIn, etc. ) that enhance digital content production and audience engagement.
  • Write and edit clear, engaging, and on-brand copy for digital platforms, including websites, social media, YouTube descriptions, email campaigns, and podcasts.
  • Assist with posting visual content to social media and YouTube, ensuring accurate formatting and timely publication.
  • Develop graphics for podcasts, email campaigns, web features, blog articles, and other digital projects as needed.
  • Propose creative concepts that elevate the overall visual strategy and adapt existing assets to various formats.
  • Design and maintain reusable templates (e.g., social media posts, thumbnails, email banners) to support content consistency and streamline production.

  • Stay informed about digital design trends, social media best practices, and visual storytelling techniques.
  • Experiment with new design tools and methods to improve workflow efficiency and creative impact.
  • Incorporate feedback to refine visuals and meet evolving content needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in graphic design or an equivalent portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva or similar design tools
  • Strong eye for layout, typography, and color theory
  • Familiarity with social media design best practices and YouTube thumbnail trends
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Basic knowledge of motion graphics or video editing tools (e.g., After Effects, Premiere).
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship.

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of motion graphics or video editing tools.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, digital media production, journalism, or similar communication field.

This is a full-time position: Monday through Friday. This role can either be worked remotely (if outside Chicagoland) or a hybrid from both the Chicago campus and from home (within Chicagoland).

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
