Command Exercise Engineer

The Opportunity:

Provide support to the SOCSOUTH Command Engineer at Homestead Air Reserve Base, FL and at designated CONUS and OCONUS locations. Assist the Command with the planning, evaluation, documentation, property accountability, survey, and review of engineering and construction projects and other efforts to ensure there are adequate facilities and property to support exercises and deployments to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

  • Plan and conduct exercise-related field surveys to review current sites and locate proposed sites; analyze proposed site factors; design maps, graphs, reports and diagrams to illustrate findings; provide recommendations to how to best support SOCSOUTH exercise programs with adequate facilities and conditions.

  • Create and provide housing site surveys/reports on current conditions that address needs for corrections or construction to support deployed unit requirements.

  • Provide in-depth analysis and recommendations for planning, coordinating, reviewing, and synchronizing actions associated with facility restoration, modification, and maintenance products.

  • Prepare and present formal and informal reports and briefings on engineering projects and their progress (i.e., plans and design reviews, field surveys, project site inspections, exercise site surveys, etc.)

  • Review design plans, track construction progress, participate in final inspections, and provide necessary comments and recommendations.

  • Develop plans and cost estimates for installation of systems, utilization of facilities, or construction structures to meet mission and/or exercise needs.

  • Work with foreign nationals while OCONUS in pursuit of project tasks and completion.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current SECRET security clearance. Be eligible for a Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information Security Clearance.

  • At least 3 years' experience leading military-focused construction projects.

  • Experience on an Operational Staff managing exercises, staff functions, and/or deployments.

  • Candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline or an associate's degree in an applicable discipline with 6 years' experience

  • A current Tourist Passport with an expiration date more than 6 months away.

  • Native Spanish language fluency.

Desired:

  • A fundamental understanding of Program Management Office operations and management.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$61,600-$129,300
