Job Description

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required
Minimum of two years’ experience working with and supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism
Current Occupational Therapy license/certification for New York operation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations
Valid State driver’s license required

Responsibilities:

Perform initial and ongoing Occupational Therapy Evaluations for persons supported in accordance with OPWDD regulations
Develop Eating/Bathing Guidelines for persons supported as determined by assessments
Adaptive Equipment assessments and recommendations as needed
In-service training for Life’s WORC staff as it pertains to Clinical Habilitation Plans and general occupational therapy concerns
Develop Person Centered Annual Clinical Habilitation Plans for each person receiving indirect services
Ongoing monitoring and documentation of person’s progress each time they are seen at the residence
Attend clinical meetings and Annual Life Plan Meetings as requested
Collaborate & follow through on occupational therapy recommendations from committees (i.e. HRC, IRC)

Ensure regulatory compliance with implementation of occupational therapy services
Maintain appropriate liability insurance coverage
