Functions of a Portfolio Manager:

Works with the Commercial Loan Portfolio Management team to provide administrative and technical support to the Commercial Lending team. Assists the lender(s) with all aspects of the loan transaction from the initial request or referral through closing and post-closing activities and reporting. Coordinates data for commercial loan reports and commercial loan audits. Participates in commercial lending and other bank-wide projects.

Essential job functions / responsibilities of a Portfolio Manager:

  • Works with lenders to assist in meeting the lending needs of our customers. Existing customers with a new request or a new customer
  1. Underwrites and coordinates activity in accordance with bank policy

  2. Ensures files are properly documented; reach out to customers with document requests and track missing documents

  3. May make lending decisions or may present data to the loan officer for decisioning

  4. Monitors document preparation and closes loans

  5. Ensures that loan files comply with federal regulations and bank policies

  6. Provides ongoing oversight to existing loans to ensure timely payment

  • Have a thorough understanding of the LoanVantage system and be able to manages all aspects of the loan process within the system
  • As needed, answer customer inquiries as to loan status, and other account related questions
  • Cross sell bank products and services making the appropriate internal referrals
  • Acts as customer point contact as needed
  • Assist loan officers with line of credit renewals, CITs, annual financial document requests and other customer outreach
  1. Complete Site Visits
  • Handles Loan Assistant tasks as needed
  • Monitor and arrange for approval of overdrafts for CLOs
  • Prepares and reviews quarterly Problem Loan Reporting
  • Prepares data for the annual internal loan review process
  • Assists with annual OCC loan review process
  • May have a loan portfolio
  • May participate in team and/or bank-wide projects
  • Other duties as requested

Requirements

Education Training and Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 months of lending experience, preferably in commercial lending
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent PC and Microsoft product skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
