We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Bakery Clerk to join our team at Cosentino's Price Chopper. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bakery environment, and assisting with various bakery operations. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and possess a passion for food safety and sanitation. This position requires someone who can multitask effectively and work efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and fulfilling orders with a positive attitude.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Assist with the packaging and labeling of bakery products, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting shortages and assisting with stock rotation.
- Operate bakery machinery, following safety protocols and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Handle sales transactions accurately and efficiently, demonstrating strong sales skills.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment, assisting colleagues and supporting overall bakery operations.
- Practice cleanliness and sanitation procedures consistently to maintain food safety standards.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Assist with quality control, ensuring products meet established standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of English language.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- General knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a bakery or restaurant operation.
- Familiarity with inventory management principles.
- Experience with packaging and labeling of food products.
