This role ensures proper handling of hazardous materials, maintains required documentation, and supports warehouse operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicle in accordance with safety protocols and DOT regulations.
  • Deliver and pick up automotive batteries and battery cores from customer locations and distribution centers.
  • Load and unload batteries using appropriate equipment and handling procedures.
  • Accurately complete delivery documentation, including core return paperwork.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of assigned vehicle.
  • Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and delivery timing.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Assist with warehouse functions including loading, unloading, and inventory tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in commercial or route delivery driving.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to handle batteries and materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail; comfortable handling hazardous materials with appropriate PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and proper documentation procedures.
  • Previous experience transporting automotive batteries or similar hazardous materials.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy batteries (up to 75 lbs.)
  • Work performed in a combination of warehouse and on-the-road environments
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and battery-related chemicals

  • Candidates must meet employment eligibility requirements as established by U.S. federal law.
  • Employment is contingent upon a conditional offer and the successful completion of a background check and, where permitted by law, a drug screening.
