WOW! is currently hiring a Data Center Facilities Engineer!
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE ROLE. THIS IS AN IN-PERSON ROLE AT THE TAMPA DATA CENTER. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU LIVE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE TO TAMPA, FL.
The Data Center Facilities Engineer is accountable for the 24x7 operation of the data center, and all supporting equipment located within the facility. This role is responsible for installation, maintenance and proper operation of all equipment located within the data center in accordance with company guidelines and local, state and federal regulations.

What You'll be doing:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
Schedules basic preventive maintenance, repair and installation in support of the data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Monitors equipment performance to ensure proper functionality in compliance with manufacturer specifications and company specifications.
Ensures effective operation and proper maintenance of all facility equipment including but not limited to generators, transfer switches, UPS, CRAC’s, PDU’s, ATS, sprinklers, electrical distribution, DC power and battery maintenance.
Maintains the Building Management System (BMS) ensuring that preventive alarms are received.
Develops Methods of Procedure (MOP) for all work, follows preventive maintenance procedures, activities and tracking to ensure compliance with company standards.
Maintains the integrity and security of the data center in compliance with company guidelines.
Implements and coordinates relocation of equipment as required.
Develops creative approaches to reducing operational costs, whilst improving efficiencies.
Works with internal and external customers regarding projects, installation assigning space and power.
Works with customer and contractors to design and build out co-location space
Submits a weekly status report and is responsible for meeting monthly KPI’s
Responsible for meeting service level agreements (SLAs) with internal teams and customers on uptime, efficiencies and cost.
Works with the Manager, Data Center Operations to develop and execute operational budgets, expense forecasting and manage established budgets.
Participates in annual audits.

Education:
High School Degree or GED and one-year certificate from college or technical school in telecommunications or related field equivalent combination of education and training
Associate's degree, trade school certification in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Experience/Skills Needed:
Minimum of 3 years of experience at journeyman or technician level in a critical environment.
Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge is required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Preventive Maintenance is required; must have the ability to read and understand engineering prints as they pertain to a Data Center.
Data center, hospital or power plant experience.
Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units and CRAC units.
Ability to communicate effectively with contractors and guide them in performing maintenance or upgrade work on these systems.

Google suite, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software
