Job Description

Endeavor Health Services is looking for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Medical Secretary to join our team! No weekends or holidays. Schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm.  This role will be split between two of our Buffalo based clinics (564 Niagara St and 1131 Broadway), but will need flexibility to provide coverage at other locations as needed. 

The Medical Secretary will support our clinics. The people we serve, visitors and staff will turn to you for information and help with administrative issues. Our Medical Secretary should be efficient and well-spoken. If you are patient, computer-savvy and can multitask, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to ensure the smooth workflow of our clinic, so that the people we serve receive the best possible care.  

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone and give information to caller, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals
  • Use computer for various applications, such as database management or word processing
  • Maintains confidentiality of all agency communications.  Responsible for ensuring compliance with all agency policies, procedures, and governmental regulations including, but not limited to HIPAA
  • Greet the people we serve and visitors and handle their inquiries
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for the people we serve
  • Collect co-pays when necessary and provide receipts
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalency diploma PLUS minimum of one (1) year full-time paid administrative experience which includes keyboarding and some billing background preferred

OR

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a major area of study in administrative duties or medical billing PLUS a minimum of one (1) year full-time paid administrative experience
