As a Mechanical Engineer in the Design group at SV Microwave, you will:
- Develop manufacturable designs of product using SolidWorks modeling techniques and mechanical tolerance analysis
- Regularly communicate with internal customers (Sales, Quality, Manufacturing) and external customers to define project objectives and updates
- Work directly with SV Applications Engineers and have the opportunity to travel to interact directly with customer engineers to fulfill demand on custom product
- Lead design reviews on complex product with a multidisciplinary group prior to release
- Specify testing protocols/experiments and oversee assembly of prototypes to validate your designs
- Troubleshoot root cause design and component failures and field returns using both experimental and analytical methods. Recommend & implement corrective actions.
- Work cooperatively with on-site manufacturing organization to meet production requirements and cost reduction goals through design for manufacturability
- Interface with industry, tradeshows, and evaluate competitors to analyze and recommend new advances in technology
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- Excellent analytical and IT skills
- Working knowledge of CAD and engineering simulation tools
