Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
-
Arrive at job site location prior to designated start time in proper PPE.
-
Conduct the pre-JSA Job Site walk with the supervisor.
-
Conduct shift change with outgoing Safety Tech.
-
Review daily logs (daily logs are to be completed per shift).
-
Discuss any issues or conditions that arose during shift.
-
Share log events with shift supervisor and audit reports are to be forwarded to Regional HSE Representative as directed.
-
Actively assist with and participate in the JSA meeting with crew BSK program.
-
Conduct daily safety meetings to review client and company required topics.
-
Conduct employee training, MSHA part 46 & Part 48, as well as any other safety related training
-
Conduct safety audits, intervene, and communicate findings to site supervision and HSE Department.

Discuss task and location of specific hazard mitigation daily with Site Supervision.

Ensure overall compliance with Thorpe, Client, and regulatory agency requirements.

Meet with Client Safety Representative as needed.
-
Ability to multitask, prioritize job duties, and work in a fast paced, hectic environment.

Advance knowledge and understanding of current construction and general industry safety regulations and the ability to analyze and interpret this data for the safety of employees, job sites, and the branch.

Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively train, motivate, and communicate with employees, supervisors, and customers.

Ensure Equipment inspection are being conducted for:

Forklift
-
Man Lift
-
Tools
-
Cords
-
Any equipment being used that needs to be inspected

Qualifications and Education Requirements
-
3+ year safety experience and be familiar with 1910/1926 Federal regulations
-
OSHA 10 or 30
-
CSST (NCCER 100-hour course) preferred
-
College Degree (other degree) preferred
-
CPR FA BBP Certification preferred
-
TWIC card, etc.
-
Valid driver’s license and good driving history
-
Satisfactory criminal background check.
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
-
Be able to walk for extended periods of time on varying terrain and be able to climb ladders in performance of duties
-
Pass a PFT/RFT and doctors physical eval
-
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
