THE WORK:
- You’ll perform detailed inspections for capital improvement and development projects related to transportation infrastructure, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, plans, and industry standards.
- You’ll actively participate in pre-construction conferences for assigned projects, ensuring all stakeholders understand project expectations, safety protocols, and schedules.
- You’ll perform quality control inspections to verify that construction activities align with approved plans, specifications, and applicable safety regulations, particularly for transportation-related work.
- You’ll document daily activities on construction sites, including progress, labor force utilization, material deliveries, measured quantities, and any discussions or issues encountered.
- You’ll monitor the construction progress for transportation-related projects, identifying any delays, deviations from plans, or areas requiring corrective actions to ensure project timelines are met.
- You’ll inspect materials used on-site for compliance with project specifications, including testing materials to confirm they meet quality standards for transportation infrastructure.
- You’ll ensure adherence to all safety regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, by monitoring daily safety practices on the job site.
- You’ll identify potential changes or revisions to the project scope during inspections, and provide documentation and recommendations to assist in processing change orders when necessary.
- You’ll review contractor progress on assigned projects and recommend appropriate monthly progress payments based on verified work completed in accordance with the contract.
- You’ll closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations regarding construction activities, quality control, and potential risks that may affect the success of transportation projects.
- Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a construction inspector performing quality control inspections
- Minimum one (1) year experience inspecting sewer and storm drain construction
- Minimum one (1) year experience in with managing change orders
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Working knowledge of Caltrans Standard Specifications, filing system, and construction procedures
- Working knowledge of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (aka Green Book)
- Knowledge of materials inspection and testing methods and procedures for concrete, soil, and asphalt
- Knowledge in interpreting construction survey stakes
- Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Residence within a 45-mile radius of the city of Bakersfield
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
