Laborer

Earth View is looking for Field Laborers to join our team. The Field Laborer performs a wide range of tasks requiring physical labor in support of superintendents, foremen, and equipment operators on the job site.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Construction experience preferred; on-the-job training available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans and prepares construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.

• Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.

• Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of equipment.

• Assists in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.

• Excavates trenches/ditches with shovel.

• Assists crews with picking up and handling materials.

• Directs traffic in or around work zones.

• Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all company safety policies.

• Maintains a clean job site, ensuring that trash is properly disposed, and tools and equipment are properly stored.

• Follows the direction of the Foreman to complete daily tasks on the job site.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to listen, comprehend, and follow directions.

• Ability to remain flexible as specific job assignments change.

• Ability to work with a variety of personalities.

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic including counting.

• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with coworkers and business partners.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

• Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.

• May spend prolonged periods of time operating power tools or machinery.

• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
