Job Description

The Financial Accountant plays an integral role supporting management by ensuring all financial activity is properly accounted for and accurately reflects the accounting principles and procedures of the organization. This role will experience a variety of recurring financial accounting responsibilities and also work closely with the Payroll Accountant to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely.
This is a full-time opportunity based at our Corporate Office located in Woodbury, MN. Monday - Friday schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (schedule subject to change).
- Monitor cash in multiple bank accounts and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare various journal entries in the general ledger to aide completion of the monthly financial statements package.
- Maintain fixed asset and capital expenditure records; record monthly depreciation.
- Review monthly variances between actual and budgeted revenues and expenses; reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with preparation of monthly sales and use tax returns, includes review of disbursements for use tax.
- Process employee and physician payroll.
- Prepare financial reports related to performance, productivity, volume, and compensation.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed.
- Gather and prepare documentation for external financial audit and tax return preparation.
- Assist in annual accounting year-end close process.
- Provide support to management in preparation of annual budget.
Summit's hiring range for this position is $56,016 to $70,021 per year. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation. If you are hired at Summit, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
