Job Description
Key Responsibilities
BIM Development
Develop, customize, and maintain BIM standards, templates, and content libraries.
Create and manage 3D models for electrical and HVAC systems, ensuring accuracy and coordination with other disciplines.
Support clash detection, model coordination, and resolution of constructability issues.
Automate workflows, scripts, and plug-ins to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Provide training and technical support to staff on BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Electrical SME Responsibilities
Act as the technical authority for electrical design, codes, and best practices in construction and HVAC projects.
Review and validate electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and local regulations.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to resolve design and installation challenges.
Provide guidance on electrical load calculations, panel schedules, wiring methods, and equipment layouts.
Ensure integration of electrical systems with HVAC, mechanical, and architectural components.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to deliver coordinated and clash-free models.
Support preconstruction and estimating teams by providing accurate model-based quantities and system layouts.
Assist project teams during construction with as-built documentation and change management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field (preferred).
5+ years of experience in BIM modeling within the construction or HVAC industry.
5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, design, or installation.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/ACC.
Knowledge of Dynamo, scripting, or programming for BIM automation (preferred).
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and system design.
Familiarity with HVAC systems, mechanical coordination, and multidisciplinary workflows.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to train and mentor team members.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
