Job Description
Position Title: Board Certified/Board Eligible Otolaryngologist (Head & Neck Oncology)Location: Oklahoma City VA Health Care SystemSchedule: Full-time (1.0 FTE); includes clinic and OR time as scheduled
Overview:The Head and Neck Oncology Specialist provides comprehensive medical and surgical management of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. The role requires expertise in complex oncologic, reconstructive, and endocrine surgeries of the head and neck region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate and manage patients with head and neck cancers, thyroid and parathyroid disease, and complex airway disorders.
Perform oncologic surgeries including laryngectomy, neck dissection, free flap reconstruction, thyroidectomy, and skull base procedures.
Provide consultation and follow-up care for oncology patients.
Participate in tumor boards and coordinate multidisciplinary cancer care.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the VA’s EHR systems.
Support resident education and quality improvement initiatives as applicable.
Adhere to VA clinical protocols and Joint Commission standards.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with completion of ACGME-accredited residency in Otolaryngology.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
Fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology required.
Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
Current BLS/ACLS certification.
Credentialing and privileging by the VA Medical Executive Board required prior to start.
