Job Description

Position Purpose: Under limited supervision, the Business Analyst for our Operations department is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business and user needs, documenting business requirements, defining scope and objectives and formulating business solutions.

  • MUST RESIDE IN THE CLEVELAND, OHIO AREA*

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Develops a common understanding of problems, outlines the parameters of the project and determine potential solutions
  • Critical review of data, documentation, user input and workflows. Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for workflow processes, exception reporting, interfaces with systems, internal and external checks and controls, and inputs/outputs
  • Point person for Compliance department partnerships and audits
  • Applies commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field or business
  • Reads and interprets technical literature and translates in terms understandable to the end-users
  • Plans, organizes and conducts business process reengineering/improvement projects
  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users
  • Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training
  • Provides work direction to staff, as required
  • Acts as a team lead on designated projects or assignments
  • Leads cross functional teams across firm-wide lines of business
  • Complete all required training applicable to this position
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience with data analysis, business process reporting, business planning and/or database management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Knowledge of six sigma practices preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in reporting with proven analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Must exhibit the ability to communicate difficult and/or sensitive information tactfully and professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must
  • Proficient use of technology, including Microsoft Office applications, database systems, executing data imports, running exports, merging records, and running reports

Close visual acuity is needed to read, analyze data, and view a computer terminal for extended periods.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment. It is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will experience low to moderate noise levels and moderate interruptions. The workspace is well-lit and climate controlled.
