About the Position

The Business Analyst plays a critical role within the company's Construction & Capital Programs division. As a subject matter expert on departmental systems, system integration, and implementation projects, you will support financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and bond program compliance.

This role requires a highly analytical professional with strong accounting and financial reporting expertise. You will reconcile accounts, prepare reports, resolve discrepancies, manage journal entries, support audits, and ensure financial compliance for construction- and bond-related activities. You will collaborate with internal teams, campuses, vendors, and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate deliverables across month-end, year-end, and project cycles.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as SME for department systems, integrations, and implementation projects
  • Reconcile financial accounts and reports; identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Interface with district personnel, internal auditors, and external auditors
  • Identify errors and develop innovative methods to improve accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain strong internal controls and process efficiency
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end activities with stakeholders and campuses
  • Support accrual processes and ensure timely closeout
  • Prepare routing and approval documentation
  • Approve/release invoices according to accounting procedures
  • Prepare or review vendor files and payment support documentation
  • Support general contractor payment analysis
  • Collaborate with accounting and program staff on bond-related matters
  • Evaluate financial compliance with bond program requirements
  • Complete additional bond-related assignments as directed

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related fields
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline
  • Experience with business enterprise systems or accounting software
  • Strong analytical skills and experience performing historical trend analysis
  • Proven ability to create and interpret monthly financial reports
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to all organizational levels
  • Bond program experience
  • Construction program experience
  • Experience with Costpoint and/or Proliance
