Are you energized by listening well, maintaining relationships, and helping people navigate complex decisions with clarity and care?Peak Trust Company is seeking a Business Development & Relationship Officer (BDRO) to support thoughtful, relationship-driven growth across our firm. This role is centered on connection, consistency, and stewardship, cultivating professional relationships, engaging prospective clients, and ensuring Peak’s services are communicated with professionalism, warmth, and credibility.This is not a transactional sales role. Success comes from showing up consistently, following through reliably, and maintaining long-term relationships with clients and referral partners.What You’ll Do
- Serve as an initial point of connection for new inquiries, engaging prospects by phone, email, and web with professionalism and care
- Qualify inbound inquiries based on service fit, assets, and jurisdiction, and guide prospects through Peak’s trust services and onboarding process
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with referral partners such as attorneys, financial advisors, and other professionals
- Participate in conferences, industry events, community gatherings, and educational forums to strengthen professional relationships on behalf of Peak
- Maintain consistent, professional follow-up with prospects and referral partners to ensure relationships remain active and supported
- Collaborate closely with marketing, fiduciary, and leadership teams to align relationship development with service delivery
- Share observations and insights that support thoughtful, sustainable growth and enhance the client and referral experience
- Prospects and referral partners feel informed, respected, and consistently engaged
- Inquiries are qualified thoughtfully and routed appropriately
- Referral relationships are nurtured, diversified, and strengthened over time
- Interactions with Peak consistently reflect confidence, credibility, and warmth
- Internal teams receive clear insight into referral patterns, market observations, and client needs
- Relationships are built on trust and continuity, not transactional outcomes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport through professionalism, listening, and follow-through
- A relationship-driven mindset, you value consistency, reliability, and long-term connection
- Comfort explaining complex concepts clearly and thoughtfully (financial or trust services experience is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around follow-up and communication
- Experience in business development, relationship management, client engagement, or a similar role
- Willingness to attend conferences and meet with partners in person as needed
