Business Systems Manager – Public Trust Clearance | Lexington, KYCambridge International Systems, Inc.Join a dynamic global team united by shared values: commitment, integrity, and perseverance. At Cambridge, you’ll work alongside top talent worldwide, tackling some of today’s most complex and critical challenges in defense and security.We are currently seeking a Business Systems Manager to support operations in Lexington, KY. This is a full-time, CONUS position requiring a Public Trust with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. What You’ll DoAs a Business Systems Manager, you will play a critical role in defining system scope, analyzing business processes, and developing technical specifications to support enterprise system design and optimization. Experienced in delivering solutions across inventory, finance, HR, and call center systems, with strong technical insight and independent problem-solving capabilities, that serve U.S. government missions on a customer site. You will:
- Provides specialized expertise in defining system scope and objectives that align with strategic business plans, stakeholder requirements, and industry standards.
- Determines operational objectives by thoroughly analyzing core business functions, gathering and interpreting data, and assessing output needs, formats, and reporting requirements.
- Analyzes complex business and technical processes to design, develop, and enhance both new and existing business information systems—including production, inventory control, financial tracking, call center management, and human resources platforms.
- Works independently or within cross-functional project teams, delivering technical guidance on the business implications of implementing, upgrading, or modifying enterprise systems.
- Designs and improves operational procedures to address technical challenges, including hardware limitations, processing constraints, system performance, and output quality.
- Produces comprehensive and precise technical documentation and specifications, serving as the foundation for software development and ensuring successful system implementation.
- Education & Experience:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field + 5 years of professional experience in software development, systems administration, or computer engineering.
- Technical Expertise:
- IT Operations & Infrastructure SupportOversee all IT-related systems, processes, and equipment supporting CoMSupCen operations, including integration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of hardware and software assets.
- Website ManagementMaintain and ensure 24/7 operational readiness (excluding scheduled maintenance) of Microsoft-based websites used in support of CoMSupCen functions.
- Database & ReportingConfigure and manage the Maximo database and website, enabling automated and recurring report generation as requested by staff to meet internal and external (e.g., NGB and contractor) reporting requirements.
- Network AdministrationMaintain a secure, unclassified Local Area Network (LAN) with controlled access, ensuring high availability during designated working hours and managing downtimes for maintenance as needed.
- System Monitoring & TroubleshootingContinuously monitor network and system performance to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, ensuring uninterrupted service.
- Senior Database AdministrationServe as the lead database administrator, supporting system design and population of open system-compliant databases. Provide direct customer support for database and application solutions.
- Cybersecurity LeadershipAct as the Center’s cybersecurity authority, advising leadership on strategies to secure IT infrastructure from internal and external threats, including policy recommendations and risk mitigation practices.
- Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
- Certifications:
- DOD 8570-01M certification, IAT Level II or better (e.g. Security+ CE).
- Eligible to obtain and keep active, a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
- Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
- Primarily an office-based role in Lexington, KY
- Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site
- Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
- Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
- May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
