The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience.

$17.75 - $21.75

Position Highlights

4 hour evening shift (covering dinner), 8 hour morning/afternoon shift (covering breakfast-lunch), 12 hour also available.

Mostly Mon-Friday need. But technically all week (7 days)

6:45am-7:15pm ; PRN as needed

A Brief Overview

Coordinates the daily operations between production, non-production, and patient areas of the department. This position also assists the department in the clerical aspects of patient meal service through monitoring diet orders, accurate menu processing, and assisting patients with menu selections. The Food Service Ambassador will provide excellent customer service when assisting patients with meal ordering, delivering meals and snacks, and acting as a liaison to other departments regarding patient meal services.

What you will do

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of the CBORD Room Service Choice software system utilized for recording patient and guest meal orders.
  • Ensures accuracy of meal trays and supplements, including tube feedings.
  • May round on patients daily to ensure accuracy of meals, snacks, diet orders and satisfaction with Food Services.
  • Communicates with the staff/other departments frequently regarding diet orders, situations, patient concerns and patient requests and reports feedback in a timely fashion to the Patient.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of food production, nutrition and therapeutic diets.
  • Delivers meals and/or food items into patient rooms in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Assists patients with meal set-up as necessary to include, but not limited to, opening containers, placing items within reach, obtaining missing / extra food items, etc.
  • Picks up trays after the patients have completed their meals. Records meal and fluid intake in the electronic medical record.
  • Completes documentation of stocked food items to track food cost. Completes assigned daily cleaning including, but not limited to individual work area and storage areas.
  • Strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards, including but not limited to: simple food preparation, food storage, transporting items from the kitchen to various areas and meal service. Records food and equipment temperatures as needed by Health Department, Joint Commission, OSHA guidelines or as may be needed by law.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent ; one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Previous food service experience
