Masonry Field Manager

The Masonry Field Manager is a vital member of our construction team, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of masonry projects including in-ground pools. This role ensures that all projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Manager will lead and develop masonry crews, interface with clients, manage materials and equipment, and collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure seamless project delivery.

This position requires a thorough understanding of masonry techniques, safety protocols, project management, and team leadership to deliver outstanding results across residential masonry projects. The Masonry Field Manager must conduct all operations with professionalism, maintain a focus on safety, and uphold the company’s reputation for quality workmanship.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Guide project planning aligned with company mission and core values.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource allocations, and timelines.

  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets related to manpower, materials, equipment, and supplies.

  • Lead masonry crews to meet or exceed project goals, quality standards, and safety requirements.

  • Continuously improve work practices, craftsmanship, and safety procedures.

  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted timely.

  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and clients for project planning and execution.

  • Monitor job costs, productivity, and profitability; implement corrective actions as needed.

Team Management

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard skilled masons and laborers.

  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and foster ongoing professional development.

  • Maintain clear job descriptions, certifications, and training programs.

  • Develop succession plans for key personnel to ensure workforce continuity.

  • Foster a positive team environment emphasizing cooperation, safety, and high performance.

Administration

  • Oversee job site safety compliance, conduct safety meetings, and enforce safety policies.

  • Manage project paperwork, including construction plans, scope description and reports.

  • Utilize project management software to track progress and resource allocation.

  • Monitor and control project budgets, costs, and materials inventory.

Equipment and Materials

  • Manage procurement, maintenance, and proper use of tools and equipment.

  • Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective service.

  • Ensure materials meet specifications and are delivered on time to prevent delays.

Quality & Safety

  • Uphold safety standards in accordance with OSHA and company policies.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safe work practices.

  • Promote a safety-first culture and promptly address hazards or unsafe acts.

  • Interface directly with clients or client representatives to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.

  • Participate in industry organizations and networking activities to stay current with trends and innovations in masonry.

Personal Development

  • Pursue ongoing education through seminars, certifications, and industry training.

  • Develop and execute a personal growth plan aligned with career development.

  • Stay current with advances in masonry techniques, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Trade school certification or masonry apprenticeship preferred.

  • Relevant college coursework in construction management or related field a plus.

  • 5+ years of hands-on masonry experience, including supervision.

  • Proven leadership skills managing crews and projects.

  • Experience working with masonry around pools and residential masonry projects.

  • Strong understanding of masonry techniques, materials, and safety standards.

  • Knowledge of project management principles and scheduling.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to learn and utilize Aspire software.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.

  • Valid driver’s license; clean driving record.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
