Job Description:

The Louisiana State University School of Theatre invites applications for a full-time Visiting Instructor of Entertainment Lighting and Media Production, with an appointment to begin August 2025.

Job Responsibilities:

• Teaching coursework in lighting design and technology, Introduction to Theatrical Design, and other areas as needed.
• Designing lighting and multi-media projections or mentoring student designers for the four LSU Theatre and Swine Palace productions per academic year
• Serving as master electrician for all LSU Theatre and Swine Palace productions
• Supervising and mentoring student designers and technicians
• All LSU Theatre faculty serve on administrative committees and participate in student recruitment initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education Level: MFA
• Degree Substitute: an MFA with an emphasis in lighting design or equivalent professional experience
• Specific Experience: Experience in lighting and projections design; and excellent teaching, mentoring, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specific Experience: • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level; The ability to teach at the graduate level, and the skills to maintain an inventory of lighting and projections equipment and technologies; Ideal candidates will have a mastery of CAD and other multi-media digital design tools and techniques.
