Occupational Therapist (Ot) - Home Health

Pay range: $44 - $55/hr. depending on experience.

Location: North County San Diego

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, communication skills, self-care ability, and work capacity.
• Evaluate home environments for potential hazards or barriers to independent living. Identify necessary equipment.
• Develop individualized treatment programs and establish goals for improved function. Communicate plans of care to referring physicians and other professionals.
• Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities affected by illness or injury. Fabricate splints and instruct patients on the use of adaptive equipment.
• Train patients in the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
• Maintain clinical records, notes, and report any changes in patients' conditions to physicians. Submit records per organizational policy.
• Maintain communication with all personnel involved in patient care to ensure coordinated and efficient care. Attend in-services, case conferences, and other required meetings.
• Instruct patients' families/caregivers and other healthcare personnel in treatment regimes when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Strong verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
• Current BLS Hands-On CPR Certification.
