General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Nursing Simulation Lab Coordinator plays an integral role in design, development, implementation, and interpretation of simulation lab activities for the UNF School of Nursing.  Works closely with Director, School of Nursing (SON) for simulation, lab, and related duties.

Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with the nursing faculty to design, develop, and implement realistic simulation scenarios that align with curriculum.
  • Monitor and maintain the simulation lab equipment and supplies used by the UNF School of Nursing.
  • Collaborate with others to coordinate the scheduling of simulation and lab activities.
  • Provide training to UNF School of Nursing faculty on effective and evidence-based simulation strategies and debriefing techniques.
  • Lead simulation activities and debriefing for students as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with UNF policies related to simulation activities, maintaining accurate documentation and data collection.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the simulation lab, including proper storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of SON and/or other BCH leadership.

Marginal Functions:

  • Special projects as assigned by Director of SON.
  • May provide back-up to other staff positions within SON.

Departmental Requirements:

  • Clinical nursing experience required
  • Nursing simulation experience required
  • This position requires on campus work (not remote) for 40 hours per week at the UNF MedNexus Deerwood location.
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience with the plurality of society.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills including written and verbal communication.

Supervision Received:

Reports to Director, School or Nursing. Will perform independently, guided by written and/or verbal instructions. General guidance and direction. The incumbent establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work; contact between the employee and supervisor is limited in terms of frequency and matters covered.

Policy-making and/or Interpretation:

Interpret University and College Policies related to admissions, progression and graduation.

Has access to student records which must remain confidential.

 

Additional Documents Required: Three references including phone numbers and emails

Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Master’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; b) Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c) 6 years of direct experience. Active and unencumbered RN or APRN License in FL.
