Job Description
As a Clinician Registered Dietitian III, the employee supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing the highest quality and best-practice service to its customers. The Registered Dietitian III may be employed in any one of the acute or outpatient Valley Health settings, is an active member of the interdisciplinary team, is responsive to physician consults, assesses for nutrition risk and medically necessary needs of the patient and provides discipline specific interventions through the nutrition care process. The Registered Dietitian III is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional competence, identifying educational needs and for self and others by modeling, teaching and leading consistent proficiency at an advanced level. The Registered Dietitian III is mindful of the fiduciary responsibilities and demonstrates leadership in delivering nutrition therapy in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to evidence based practice and documentation and billing guidelines. This employee performs research of best practices, monitors outcomes and implements programmatic changes in response to outcome findings.
Education
Bachelors Nutrition/Dietetics or Masters accepted by Commission on Dietetic Registration
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
Acute care experience preferred.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical/organizational improvement related role, quality review role, Clinical Documentation Integrity role, or a related health care data outcomes role required with demonstrated skills in communication, facilitation, and problem solving.
Certification & Licensures
Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration Responder Certification- American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP)- AHA approved required *
West Virginia licensure or eligible, if applicable.
Has completed national certification or advanced course of study recognized by the national professional organization.
- New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Qualifications
- Minimum score of a 3 "Fully Meets Expectations" on most recent performance appraisal. Meets standard in all areas.
- Modeling, teaching, and leading consistent proficiency for advanced level, setting defined, competency in the provision of discipline specific interventions.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills or participation in computer training within the first year of employment.
- Competent to successfully interact with patients, according to their special needs which may apply based upon the age of the patient served- Age Specific Competencies.
- Exhibiting and demonstrating consistent proficiency for advanced level, setting defined, competency in the provision of discipline specific interventions.
