Position Overview:
The University of the Cumberlands is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Administrative Assistant/Office Manager to support the Information Technology (IT) department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of the IT office by managing day-to-day administrative functions, supporting departmental projects, and serving as a key point of contact for both internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Chief Information Officer and IT staff.
- Manage office communications, including emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries.
- Organize meetings, take minutes, and maintain calendars and schedules.
- Maintain office supplies, equipment inventory, and procurement requests.
- Assist with budget tracking and processing invoices and expense reports.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics for new IT staff.
- Maintain department records, documentation, and filing systems (digital and physical).
- Foster a professional, welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff seeking IT services.
- Uphold confidentiality and university policies in all communications and documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of administrative or office management experience, preferably in a higher education or IT environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and common office systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work independently.
- Professional demeanor with a customer-service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Office Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with IT terminology and office procedures.
