About the role?

The Associate Technical Manager of Product Development will support brand and category growth by executing the technical tasks required to achieve regulatory compliance, complete product registrations across relevant markets, and prepare products for launch. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in technical development, along with strong interpersonal, project management, and communication skills to effectively contribute within cross-functional teams. This role will report to the Technical Manager of Product Development.

Requirements

What you’ll do: 

  • Support the Technical Product Development Manager in meeting regulatory requirements and ensuring timely product registrations for successful launches
  • Manage key project milestones to maintain launch timelines while upholding high standards of product quality and performance
  • Organize and oversee batch submissions and finished goods retains, including conducting on-site approvals as needed
  • Submit and monitor all stability and compatibility testing, taking appropriate follow-up actions based on results
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, ensuring proper storage and accessibility
  • Attend industry conferences and lectures to stay informed on emerging trends in product and packaging innovation
  • Coordinate formula evaluations with contract manufacturers (CMs) and other vendors throughout formula development, reformulation, and scale-up processes
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of regulatory and testing guidelines for cosmetics and OTC products
  • Coordinate required testing for approved formulas, including safety, stability, compatibility, and clinical evaluations
  • Manage change control processes and collaborate closely with the Technical Manager and Commercialization Manager to ensure items are closed with urgency and excellence. 

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience within the cosmetic industry, preferably a technical role; personal care is a plus 
  • This is a Hybrid role; must be based in the Los Angeles area and available to work at our OUAI HQ at least 3x a week
  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge of cosmetic product categories
  • Excellent product evaluation and sensory analysis skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects through effective prioritization and planning
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and a results-driven approach
  • Experience in project management and a solid understanding of new product development processes
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines and quickly shift priorities to meet evolving project needs
