Role:
Designs, instructs and evaluates various health science courses (Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Aide, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, EKG Technician and Basic Life Support) for the Career Ready instructional division at Grayson College. Instructs diverse populations, including high school cohorts and in multiple formats including online and hybrid configuration. Applicants need to have some flexibility in teaching hours/days.
The hourly rate is $35.00 per hour.
- 65% Instructs Career Ready Health Science training program courses, meets classes as assigned and provides assistance to students outside of class.
- 20% Develops and updates curriculum, participates in college and industry advisory committees, assists in registration, advisement and recruiting of students, and participates in the program budget process.
- 5% Assists students in credentialing exam enrollment and preparation.
- 5% Maintains student records/statistics related to credentialing.
- 5% Performs other duties as assigned.

- Assesses student knowledge, skills, and abilities regardless of how or where the learning or skills were acquired.
- Collaborates with the Biological and Physical Sciences faculty.
- Participates in professional development and stays current in both the professional field and in current teaching/learning practices.
Qualificaions:
- Current licensed nurse (minimum LVN required, RN preferred) in the State of Texas is required.
- An Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Must have at least one (1) year nursing experience in a long-term care facility.
- Previous successful experience teaching in a high school, university and/or community college is preferred.
- Experience or knowledge of a learning management system such as Canvas, Blackboard, preferred.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
- Must maintain a collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.
- Must demonstrate cooperative attitude and excellent team skills.
- Requires experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.
- Requires excellent computer and multimedia skills.
- Requires excellent communication and organizational skills.
