Local Driver! Home every night and weekends off! Hours Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Position Summary:

Drives truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operates truck to transport and deliver various products.

  • Ensures accuracy of logs and other required documentation according to state and federal regulations.

  • May load and unload truck.

  • Practices safe driving habits and follows all safety regulations and standards.

  • Performs vehicle maintenance checks and arranges regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle.

  • May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.

  • Routes checked incoming materials, supplies, or equipment to the warehouse or other designated areas.

  • Keeps records on incoming shipments and returns.

  • May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Knowledge of road regulations and safety measures

  • Ability to perform vehicle checks

  • Good driving record

Position Qualifications: Current CDL-A Current MDOT Physical Manual License

Education:

HS diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

1+ years of related commercial driving experience

Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing/Driving Environment

Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly

Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer

Ability to travel frequently
