Job Description

Certified First Assist – CVOR | Full-Time | Las Vegas, NV

Salary: $44.43 – $66.61 per hour (based on experience)Schedule Options:

  • Full-Time, Days | Rotating Weekends

  • Full-Time, Days | No WeekendsShifts: 4x10s or 3x12s (based on department needs)On-Call: 1 weekday/week and 1 weekend/monthOn-Call Pay: $6.00/hourCall-Back Pay: 2 hrs minimum at 1.5x + 1 hr travel payDifferentials:

  • Evening: +$1.50/hr

  • Night: +$2.10/hr

  • Weekend: +$1.50/hrRelocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis

Position Overview

A high-volume cardiovascular surgical team is seeking Certified First Assists (CSTFAs) for two full-time openings in a top-rated cardiovascular operating room. This is a great opportunity to work in one of the Southwest's busiest and most advanced surgical centers. Candidates must have recent open-heart experience and proficiency in vein harvesting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, and closure during complex cardiovascular procedures

  • Perform saphenous vein harvesting and other advanced first assist techniques

  • Maintain sterile technique and surgical readiness throughout procedures

  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes

  • Comply with all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – required

  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSTFA) – required

  • High school diploma – required

  • BLS certification – required

  • Recent experience in CVOR and open-heart surgery – required

  • Vein harvesting experience – required

  • Acute care clinical experience – preferred
