Salary: $44.43 – $66.61 per hour (based on experience)Schedule Options:
Full-Time, Days | Rotating Weekends
Full-Time, Days | No WeekendsShifts: 4x10s or 3x12s (based on department needs)On-Call: 1 weekday/week and 1 weekend/monthOn-Call Pay: $6.00/hourCall-Back Pay: 2 hrs minimum at 1.5x + 1 hr travel payDifferentials:
Evening: +$1.50/hr
Night: +$2.10/hr
Weekend: +$1.50/hrRelocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis
Position Overview
A high-volume cardiovascular surgical team is seeking Certified First Assists (CSTFAs) for two full-time openings in a top-rated cardiovascular operating room. This is a great opportunity to work in one of the Southwest's busiest and most advanced surgical centers. Candidates must have recent open-heart experience and proficiency in vein harvesting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, and closure during complex cardiovascular procedures
Perform saphenous vein harvesting and other advanced first assist techniques
Maintain sterile technique and surgical readiness throughout procedures
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes
Comply with all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – required
Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSTFA) – required
High school diploma – required
BLS certification – required
Recent experience in CVOR and open-heart surgery – required
Vein harvesting experience – required
Acute care clinical experience – preferred
