Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Oakland, CA | $37–$50/hr | Full-Time or Part-Time

Celebrations Speech Group is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for an in-person, school-based role in Oakland, CA. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative Special Education team in a district with below-average caseload sizes and a strong focus on student success.
As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide high-quality, individualized therapy services to students in elementary and/or middle school settings. Flexible full-time or part-timescheduling is available.

What You’ll Do
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in person as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising OT
- Support fine motor, gross motor, sensory integration, and self-care skill development in a school environment
- Document and store treatment plans, progress reports, and session notes accurately and on time
- Update student progress and communicate with the OT and special education team
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff to support student access to curriculum and daily activities
- Participate in professional development and training as requested
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Current California COTA license through the California Board of Occupational Therapy
- Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant studies
- Ability to provide in-person services at school sites in Oakland, CA
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Preferred:
- School-based experience
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and documentation
