The Certified Surgical Technologist is an unlicensed member of the surgical team who scrubs and/or assists during surgical procedures. This position functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Certified Surgical Technologist provides direct and indirect patient care, for patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric by assisting in the preparation of the patient and environment for the performance of surgical procedures. It is the Certified Surgical Technologist's responsibility to know the Surgeon's routine and preferences.Schedule Overview:-PRN role – approx. 10 hours/week-10-hour shifts, typically 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM CST-No mandatory call, but ideally available for up to 3 call shifts every 6 weeks-Optional extra shifts available-Call response time: 1 hourJoin the dedicated surgical team at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital, a 60-bed facility in Shelbyville, TN, known for its strong culture of collaboration and high-quality patient care.
