Job Description

Position Title:

Manager, Continuing Education Programs

Time Type:

Full time

Position Summary and Qualifications:

The Manager of Continuing Education Programs will support the enrollment, delivery, and administration of a diverse portfolio of online non-credit continuing education courses and programs at SJU. This position combines program management, operational oversight, and learner support to ensure high-quality, user-friendly, and financially-sustainable offerings. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate across academic and operational divisions, support relationships with external partners, and deliver first-class customer service to prospective and enrolled students.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

  • Configure, administer, and maintain systems, including the CRM platform Slate, an LMS non-credit platform, digital badging platform, and other systems as needed to support student learning and program delivery.

  • Coordinate enrollment processes, including registration, payment, and learner communications.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, data privacy regulations, and accessibility standards.

  • Develop and manage operational workflows to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Serve as the custodian of non-credit student records 

Learner and Faculty Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for online non-credit learners, before, during, and after program enrollment; providing exceptional customer service.

  • Together with the departments offering non-credit courses, address learner concerns, resolve issues, and ensure a seamless learning experience. Provide technical support to students and faculty.

Cross-Division Coordination:

  • Collaborate effectively with offices and divisions across the university, including marketing and communications, registrar, IT, and academic finance.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor program performance through surveys, feedback, and data analysis.

  • Support the use of data to refine offerings, improve processes, and enhance learner satisfaction.

  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for institutional leadership on revenue projections, program impact and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or a related field

  • 3–5 years of experience in program administration and/or customer service, preferably in the area of online adult learning and continuing education

  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Mission and results driven, self-starter who can independently learn and problem solve.

  • Ability to analyze data and use insights for decision-making.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional learner experiences.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work with various departments and levels across the institution.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field

  • Knowledge of Slate, LMS platforms, digital badging systems, and digital learning tools.

  • Experience with online course design

  • Experience with sales, business development, and partner engagement.

 

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

  • 1-2 weekend days and some evenings per semester for admission events, department programming.

  • Occasional weekend and evening availability
