Job Description
Trueline's client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Stamford, CT. This role will be instrumental in preparing comprehensive estimates and budgets for mid to high-rise residential and commercial office projects.
What You'll Do as the Chief Estimator:
- Craft detailed and accurate estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Participate in pre-bid conferences and conduct site visits
- Evaluate subcontractor scopes of work and analyze quotes for optimal value
- Generate project bid status reports and ensure adherence to specifications and contract requirements
- Present cost estimates for customer proposals, factoring in general and special conditions
- Perform quantity takeoffs, prepare cost summaries, and input data into estimating software
- Maintain an up-to-date database of cost codes for historical reference
- Leverage company and industry data for accurate pricing estimates
Chief Estimator Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of relevant construction estimating experience
- Advanced project estimating skills, including value engineering calculations
- Proficiency in engineering terminology to effectively communicate with various stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to interpret and organize construction plans and specifications
- Capacity to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database software
