Job Description

Location: Greater Pittsburgh Area (Warrendale)

Summary:

As a key member of the Executive Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a vital, strategic role in the overall leadership of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This includes the direct responsibility for strategic financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, accounting, bank financing, capital allocation, treasury management, risk management, tax planning, financial reporting, M&A, procurement, and facilities & fleet management. Additionally, the CFO engages regularly with our Board of Directors, Auditors and Bank Partners, and is expected to network with banks not in our syndicate, as well as others in Legal, Audit, and Insurance.

What You'll Do:

  • Corporate Financial Accountability:

  • Defines the financial strategy to proactively manage / mitigate risk for the Vector Security business entity and all subsidiary and foreign operations to achieving or exceeding budget expectations.

  • Accountable for financial controls, fiduciary responsibility and profitability.

  • Presents and discusses financial information and analytics with Executive Management, Board of Directors and others.

  • Reviews and approves all filings.

  • Responsible for analyzing trends, direction and future impact of economic conditions that impact the financial direction of the company.

  • Provides direction and recommendation to operating units in response to KPIs, shortfalls to plan, comparative data from other organizations.

  • Manages capital requests as well as pre-reviews large commercial deals.

  • Directs the preparation of all internal financial reporting such as monthly/annual financial reports, budgeting, cost analysis and accounting.

  • Selects, oversees and responds to issues related to the annual audit.

  • Provides documentation and reports to The Philadelphia Contributorship (parent company) in accordance with audit committee requirements.

  • Ensures compliance with all government and regulatory tax agencies.

  • Works with business units and home office departments to develop annual budgets and capital needs.

  • Conducts financial analysis on healthcare and other insurance renewals.

  • Banking Relationships:

  • Primary contact for bank syndicate.

  • Negotiates credit facility terms and conditions as well as any amendments.

  • Manages performance to stay within covenants.

  • Provide required reporting within scheduled timelines.

  • Leadership:

  • Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems and processes that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of Vector Security.

  • Leads M&A, Procurement, Fleet & Facilities functions.

  • Builds and develops a highly effective team.

  • Emphasis is placed on providing professional growth and opportunities to team members, primarily for direct reports, and ensures direct reports are doing the same.

  • Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Participates in or leads numerous companywide projects/committees such as Audit Committee, Risk Committee, ERM, Leadership Team meetings, and Monthly Business Reviews.

  • Communicates, engages and interacts with Board of Directors. CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Auditors.

  • Account Receivable:

  • Responsible for the team which provides collections of A/R.

  • Monitors financial stability of customers to anticipate potential financial distress.

  • Handles all bankruptcy filings and post petitions.

  • Approves nonstandard payment terms for large accounts.

What You'll Need:

  • BS/BA Accounting/Finance is - Required:

  • Strong preference for CPA or other certification and advanced degree.

  • High Level of Integrity & Dependability With a Strong Sense of Ethics:

  • Proven leader of people; able to create a best-in-class work environment.

  • Prefer 15-20-Years Experience in Industrial or Services Environment With at Least 3-Years as Sitting CFO.

  • Strong Written & Verbal Communication Skill, Including Executive Presence:

  • Must have a keen ability to translate complex financial initiatives into presentations understood by non-financial executives.

  • Proven experience presenting to Boards or Audit Committee.

  • Strong Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Change Management & Financial Planning/Analysis Skill
