Civil Engineer 1

Job Description

Under direct supervision, performs basic complexity engineering tasks including site layout development, site grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, occasionally single-story structures, and stormwater infrastructure and treatment. Reviews draft designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and verifies adherence to firm policies and practices across all design work.

Conducts site reviews and studies as needed to confirm alignment with location-specific requirements, updating design parameters accordingly. Ability to contribute to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management (TKM) by authoring white papers and technical documentation for new or unique design cases. May submit technical papers and designs for publication in professional journals and assist in creating posters or presentation materials for conferences.

Demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks both within and outside of the office environment, including remote site assessments, field data collection, and virtual collaboration with project teams. Maintains productivity and quality standards regardless of work location, ensuring seamless integration of field insights into design deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
