Machine Operator Job Description
Position Title - Machine Operator 1st shift hours of 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday.Job Overview -
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. Operators are expected to monitor machine functions, maintain quality control, and ensure that production targets are met while adhering to safety protocols.Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CNC DMG-Mori and Okuma milling and lathe machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.
- Adjust machine settings and parameters as needed to ensure optimal performance and output.
- Inspect parts for defects or deviations from specifications using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Perform routine quality checks and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure the final products meet company and customer quality standards.
- Follow safety procedures, guidelines, and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) such as goggles, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
- Adhere to company policies and industry regulations to ensure workplace safety and compliance.
- Experience - previous experience in machine operation or manufacturing environment preferred, but training will be provided.
- Attention to Detail - strong ability to identify defects or deviations in production.
- Physical Stamina - ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Communication – basic written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Safety Knowledge – understanding of safety standards and ability to adhere to them.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical certifications or specialized training is welcomed (e.g., CNC training, etc.)
- Manufacturing plant, warehouse, or production facility.
- Exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and potential hazards; personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- May require shift work, including nights, or overtime, depending on production schedules.
