Job Summary:

MEC is seeking three (3) organized and proactive Interns to join our team for the 2026 Spring Semester. This internship will be an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial construction. The intern will work closely with either a Project Manager, Estimator, or Field Superintendent to assist in bidding, planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. Interns will be placed in roles based on their individual preferences, as well as the company's needs and how we believe your skills will best contribute to our team.Duties and Responsibilities:Project Manager Internship - Assist in preparation of project plans, schedules and budgets. - Maintain organized documentation of project including contracts, permits, change orders, and more. - Participate in on-site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance in all safety standards. - Work closely with subcontractors, vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and efficiency. - Attend project meetings and take notes as needed. - Support the team by addressing any issues to delays that may arise during the project. - Prepare presentation at end of internship. - And other duties as assigned.Estimating Internship - Assist estimating team in gathering and analyzing cost data for labor, materials and equipment to develop accurate estimates for construction projects. - Help prepare bid packages by reviewing project specifications, drawings and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements. - Conduct research to ensure all bids are up to date and include competitive rates. - Assist in performing takeoffs. - Help organize and maintain all bid documents, cost databases and correspondence. - Other duties as assigned.Field Superintendent - Assist the Field Superintendent in overseeing daily construction operations. - Ensure safety protocols are enforced onsite and report potential hazards. - Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, suppliers and project management team to ensure efficiency. - Assist in monitoring the quality control and identify any issues that may need to be resolved. - Help project timelines and work schedules. - Assist in maintaining accurate documentation including daily logs, safety reports, and more. - Participate in site inspections and identify any potential delays or issues. - Collaborate with all involved to ensure success of project. - Other duties as assigned.Skills and Abilities: - Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related fields. - Strong communication and organizational skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. - Basic knowledge of blueprints, the construction process and the terminology. - A positive and proactive attitude.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: Our Project Manager and Estimator intern will be based out of the Melbourne or Orlando Office dependent on candidate location. Field Superintendent Intern will be dependent on project and candidate location.
