The Legal Intern will play a crucial role in supporting commercial transactions within Jabil Legal. This position offers hands-on experience at the intersection of law and business. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in commercial contracting are essential for success in this role.
Summary of Program
Jabil's Summer Internship Program in St. Petersburg Florida was recognized as one of the Top 100 Internship Programs in the country for 2025 by WayUp. This is the result of a holistic and engaging experience that summer interns at Jabil in St. Pete experienced. As a result, interns that are a part of this program for summer 2026 will get to engage with members of Jabil's leadership team and participate in events related to professional development, networking & socializing, and community engagement. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to work with each other in committees, be assigned a Peer Partner (e.g., mentor), tour some of Jabil's facilities and much more! Summary of Position
Jabil offers paid summer internships with our Commercial Legal team, providing hands-on experience at the intersection of law and business. As a valued partner within the company, our legal team supports Jabil's business goals while helping mitigate risk and deliver sustainable value.
Our commercial attorneys work closely with internal clients across all levels of the organization, offering practical legal and commercial guidance on a wide range of business and contractual matters. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts and service agreements, conducting corporate and commercial research, and providing analysis on various legal issues.
Intern Duties & Responsibilities
Support ongoing legal projects and assist with reports, presentations, and training materials.
Conduct legal research, analysis, and fact gathering.
Review and help draft or redline contracts and business agreements.
Communicate findings and present information to internal business partners.
Apply business problem‑solving skills and identify legal issues in real scenarios.
Learn the role of in‑house counsel, including ethics and professional standards.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Legal team.
Qualifications
Education: Recent law school graduate (within 6 months); post‑bar preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft 365, especially Word and Outlook, including redlining, markup, and document editing with track changes.
Basic legal knowledge, including completion of contract law coursework.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and interest in commercial legal matters.
Effective communicator and proactive self‑starter capable of working independently.
Leadership Competencies: Agility, relationship‑building, sound decision‑making, and resilience.
Availability: Must be available to work in St. Petersburg, FL for the full duration of the internship.
