Job Summary

The Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks' Aquatics Division is seeking dependable and qualified individuals to fill seasonal/temporary, non-civil service Community Aide - Aquatics positions. Selected candidates will be responsible for monitoring patron activities at municipal swimming pools and providing assistance and/or support to the Swimming Pool Manager or Operator in areas including, but not limited to, entrances, locker rooms, and pool decks.

IMPORTANT: Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the minimum requirements for each position on their application and must attach all required certifications applicable to this role in order to be considered eligible.

Individuals selected for this position will be required to successfully pass the pre-employment process, to include a physical examination, drug and alcohol screening, a criminal background check, and a Child Protective Services check prior to appointment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum Age 15 (A work permit issued by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is required for those under the age of 18.)

Additional Information

Background Check

Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening, and must be successfully completed.

Probation

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6-month mandatory probation.
