About Us
Clasp is a venture-backed, mission-driven startup transforming access to education and career pathways. We are revolutionizing the way employers attract and retain critical talent, while simultaneously tackling the student debt crisis. (Yep, we think BIG.) Our innovative platform meaningfully connects employers, educational institutions, and diverse talent to drive mutual benefit—using accessible education financing as the thread. We like to think of ourselves as more than a fintech; we’re a catalyst for economic mobility.
A Forbes Fintech 50 company, portfolio company of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management — the largest HR organization out there!) and recipient of “43 Start Ups to Bet Your Career On in 2025” by Business Insider, Clasp is driven by our commitment to social impact and innovation. We are reshaping the future of the workforce one opportunity at a time. Join us on our journey to give power to learners and unlock fulfilling careers that drive positive change in their communities and beyond.
What We Need
We’re hiring a Compliance Manager to ensure that every part of our Clasp Talent experience—from marketing and digital media, to our platform and loan repayment experience—accurately and transparently reflects how our high-impact student loan repayment programs work. This person will collaborate cross-functionally with our marketing, talent fulfillment, repayment operations, product, and legal teams to safeguard compliance across UDAAP, FTC, money transmitter, and payment processing regulations, while ensuring that Clasp clearly and compellingly communicates the value proposition and mechanics of the loan repayment programs that we power for our employers.
What You’ll Do
Identify and mitigate compliance and operational risks across advertising, partnerships, and digital engagement channels.
Partner with marketing, go-to-market, and product teams to review and advise on all materials, campaigns, and product interfaces for regulatory compliance and clarity.
Develop and maintain compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to UDAAP, FTC, and related fair marketing and disclosure standards.
Build and aid in the development of policies and procedures, training materials, and regular internal and partners audits that will support a growing business line.
Serve alongside Clasp’s repayment operations and product teams as a liaison to the fintech and bank partners that facilitate the money movement from Clasp employers to Clasp students.
Partner with fintech and bank partners to ensure the compliance of our programs, and to ensure that at no time Clasp is taking actions that would qualify Clasp as a money transmitter or payment processor.
Work with internal counsel and external legal partners to ensure that contractual agreements with employers and students are transparent, accurate, and compliant.
Evaluate and monitor communications to ensure proper representation of Clasp’s and employers’ roles within all student interactions.
Maintain awareness of evolving regulations and ensure internal teams are trained and informed on relevant requirements.
Provide problem solving and risk management guidance for the Clasp Talent business.
What You’ll Need
5+ years of experience in compliance, legal, operational or regulatory affairs within fintech or financial services.
Strong familiarity with payment processing and money transmission regulations, and how they apply and interact with bank and fintech processes.
Experience working with technology platforms (e.g., Stripe, Dwolla) and bank partners (e.g., SVB, WebBank, Grasshopper, Veridian) to facilitate compliant payments experiences in a B2B setting.
Strong familiarity with UDAAP, FTC marketing and disclosure regulations, and related consumer protection frameworks.
Experience collaborating with legal counsel to interpret contractual and regulatory requirements.
Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to translate legal and regulatory concepts into actionable business guidance.
A proactive, detail-oriented and risk-based mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and design practical compliance solutions.
Comfort working across multiple SaaS platforms to organize cross-functional work streams.
Excited to further your subject matter expertise in payments and fintech.
Enthusiasm for a startup environment where things change quickly and where iterative experimentation is part of the culture.
Any experience with tax and/or employment law compliance a plus, but not required.

Flexible PTO policy
Opportunities to grow and perform in a fast-paced environment alongside a stellar team.
