Job Description
Job Title: DOT Compliance Specialist Department: Safety Reports to: Director of SafetyPurpose: Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT laws & regulations. Promote a safety-first culture to protect the overall interest of our company and employees. Principal Accountabilities:
- Monitor compliance with all applicable DOT laws and regulations.
- Encourage a safety-first culture
- Provide remedial training to our driver team members including but not limited to driving skills evaluation, hours of service, and all other safety policies
- Monitor risk associated behaviors
- Reduce CSA Basic Scores
- Audit driver qualification files and documents
- Monitor Hours of Service
- Communicate with Director of Safety & other members of management regarding specific action plans as it relates to safety and compliance
- 1-2 years transportation experience preferred
- Knowledge of DOT & FMCSA rules & regulations preferred
- Proficient computer skills & knowledge, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, & Powerpoint
- Effective Communication skills
- Ability to foster a team environment continuously focused on improving results
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service by promoting positive engagement, trust, and patience.
- Work in office environment with moderate noise levels
- Remain stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Operate computer for extended periods of time
- Ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 lbs
- Minimal travel may be required
