Job Description
American International Contractors (Special Projects), Inc. (AICI-SP) has established itself as one of the leading construction firms in the Department of State, Overseas Building Operations (OBO) program and Department of Defense (DOD). We continue to win important contracts and projects throughout this program and others.HVAC Ductwork Fabricator/Installer must possess an active SECRET clearance, a valid passport, and the ability to obtain appropriate work visas and other required documentation. It is preferred that individuals have experience working on previous OBO projects overseas. Responsibilities include, but not are limited to the following, (unless otherwise noted, all duties are performed regularly and/or frequently, depending on job tasks assigned for the given workday):ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints
- Must have a basic understanding of the SMACNA
- Experience in fabricating Ductwork and installing Ductwork, Insulation, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, VAV Boxes and other HVAC components.
- Have knowledge of duct work fabrication machines and tools in order to layout and fabricate all types of ductwork fittings and ductwork
- Transfer any required materials from the SSA yard to the work area either by escorting local personnel or physically doing it yourself
- Assist other trades, if required
- Other duties as assigned and as needed
- 2+ years’ construction industry experience preferred
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- General knowledge of the use of hand tools to cut and shape materials as per instruction
- General knowledge of operating construction equipment and vehicles
- Flexibility in working overseas
- Understanding and adherence to local laws and customs in host country
- Following all Government site security requirements to maintain eligibility to work on project site
- Ability to take direction and work well with others, including meeting attendance requirements necessary to keep job on schedule and adherence to safety protocols
