Job Description
Job Summary
Sun Tribe EPC (“ST EPC”) is mid-Atlantic’s premier distributed generation solar design and build firm. The business is focused on designing and constructing ground-mounted Solar Photovoltaic (PV) facilities that connect to the distribution grid (This position reports directly to the Vice President, Construction and works closely with other key staff including project management, project engineering, quality, EHS, clients, and subcontractors.Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site leader and primary point of contact for utility-scale solar construction projects, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Sun Tribe standards and regulatory requirements
- Direct and coordinate subcontractors, trades, inspectors, and field teams to achieve project milestones and quality expectations
- Monitor daily construction progress, document work using Procore, and manage field reports, safety observations, and redlines
- Drive site logistics including material receiving, equipment mobilization, infrastructure setup, and workforce coordination
- Lead jobsite meetings, workforce planning, and execution of punch list and closeout activities
- Actively identify and resolve field issues, clarify scope through RFIs, and protect Sun Tribe’s contractual and operational interests
- Support change order tracking, environmental compliance, and documentation required for project and owner reporting
Basic Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least two (2) years experience in Utility Solar PV construction, commercial electrical contracting, civil work, or general contracting
Skills & Experience Preferred
- Master or Journeyman Electrical License
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field
- Responsible Land Disturber experience
- VA DEQ erosion and sediment control inspector experience
- OSHA 30
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering drawings
- Strong computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Slack, Procore)
- Ability to work well with others in a construction environment
- Proven experience directing sub-contractors and or tradespeople
- Honest, reliable, self-aware, and conscientious
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills
- Commitment to stop work in unsafe conditions

Working and Physical Requirements
- Some evening and weekend work is required
- Standard work hours may be changed based on emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite
- Requires approximately 10% office work and 90% field work – construction planning is expected to take place at the Sun Tribe EPC office adopting Sun Tribe EPC policies with respect to work from home flexibility
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
- Requires travel to worksites and projects as needed.
