What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors
As a construction engineer at OHM Advisors, you will contribute to the successful execution of infrastructure projects by overseeing construction activities, ensuring quality, managing costs, and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
Your Responsibilities
- This position involves day-to-day interfacing with project team members, with our clients, contractors, and other technical experts and disciplines regarding project related items.
- An opportunity exists for a variety of project experiences and the potential for advancement in the organization.
- Effectively communicate project details to the project team and clients.
- Provide project related guidance, coaching, and direction to staff.
- Manage and prepare project scope descriptions, schedules, and budgets.
Requirements
Education, Experience, & Licensure:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in the industry with a minimum of a year in construction observation and/or management, is required.
- Work experiences such as, but not limited to, water main, sanitary sewer, road, structures, pathways, and stormwater system experience is also desirable.
- The ability to obtain the state PE license within 3 years of employment.
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of standard industry construction practices.
- Knowledge of construction procedures, techniques, as well as applicable local, state, and federal project delivery requirements is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents and specifications, as well as work orders, safety requirements, procedure manuals, and construction drawings/plans.
- Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving.
- Computer skills including email (MS Outlook), MS Excel, and MS Word. Working knowledge of Bluebeam and construction management software is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- ODOT/LPA construction project management experience is preferred.
