Job Description
Consumer Protection & Class Action Litigation AttorneyBell Law is seeking a Consumer Protection / Class Action Litigation Attorney to join ourmission-driven plaintiff-side litigation team. If you want to fight financial abuse, predatorybusiness practices, housing injustice, and systemic fraud, and you prefer quality over volume,you’ll thrive here.We are a boutique firm focused entirely on consumer protection litigation, handling high-impact individual cases and complex class actions in both state and federal court.Why This Role MattersAt Bell Law, we don’t wait for cases to land on our desk. We investigate, develop, and buildcases that protect communities and hold corporations accountable. Our recent work includes:
- $5M settlement for service members whose vehicles were illegally repossessed (SCRA)
- $4.6M settlement for elderly and disabled tenants living in uninhabitable conditions
- $1.9M settlement for tenants in substandard housing
- Active class action and mass-harm investigations, including the Aspen Place condemnation
- Federal litigation involving yo-yo auto financing, FDCPA and FCRA violations, elder financial abuse, and deceptive business practices
- Identify emerging consumer protection issues from consultations and community reports
- Conduct in-depth pre-suit investigations and witness development
- Issue preservation notices and position cases strategically before filing
- Build individual and class cases from the ground up
- Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for complex matters
- Handle depositions (taking and defending)
- Argue motions and represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trial
- Lead or support class certification, dispositive motion practice, and discovery
- Manage a quality-over-quantity caseload
- Track deadlines and maintain meticulous file organization
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and staff on litigation strategy
- Communicate with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel to advance cases
- Minimum 5-7 years of litigation experience
- Licensed in Missouri and Kansas, or ability to become licensed in both within 6 months
- Strong deposition experience, motion practice, and courtroom skills
- Excellent research and writing abilities
- Ability to think strategically and move cases forward efficiently
- Want to do impact-driven plaintiff litigation, not high-volume work
- Enjoy building cases methodically and strategically
- Have experience with or interest in federal litigation and class actions
- Communicate clearly with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Value collaboration, thoroughness, and thoughtful advocacy
- Salary Range: $115,000.00– $125,000.00, depending on experience
