Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: This role will spearhead the development and implementation of process improvements throughout the organization. Responsibilities include evaluating, documenting and improving processes and procedures to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality using 5S, 6-sigma, LEAN, etc. techniques. 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide support to the department managers to implement improvement ideas.
  2. Conduct root cause analysis of defects and underperforming processes.
  3. Provide support to the department managers to implement improvement ideas.
  4. Collaborate with all shifts to address training needs for new and existing parts.
  5. Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, FMEAs, and Control Plans.
  6. Conduct capability studies, summarize data, and chart trends.
  7. Design and conduct DOEs to improve processes.
  8. Develop control charts and implement SPC methods.
  9. Implement 5S methodologies to all process and areas.
  10. Use 6-sigma and LEAN principles to improve processes and procedures.
  11. Conduct process capability studies, Gap analysis and develop plans to meet customer or internal requirements.
  12. Provide support to action items identified during Kaizen events.
  13. Provide support for documentation.  This would include documentation of operator standard work, leader standard work, process control, autonomous maintenance and control plans.
  14. Interview employees, managers and write standard work both, operator and leader standard work.
  15. Provide audit services for documented processes. Train operators on standard work.
  16. Coach train team leads and hourly associates in continuous improvement activities.
  17. Direct support team in creation, development and construction of gemba boards, shadow boards and other visual control methods to support the work group.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Strong MS-Office skills.
  2. 2 years post high school education in a technical field.  
  3. Good communication skills with excellent interpersonal relationships.
  4. Proficient in reading and interpreting documents, writing routine reports, and effective communication with customers.
  5. Strong mathematical skills and reasoning ability.
  6. Ability to meet physical demands and work in a manufacturing environment.
  7. Mandatory use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and ear plugs.
  8. Understand servant leadership principles and seek to help make the process easier for all employees.
  9. Approachable, creative, systems thinker and process thinker.
