Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Contract Consultant to support a critical 3-month project involving large-scale, high-value equipment installations. The consultant will drive operational efficiency, identify process gaps, and ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities to permanent employees as operations stabilize.Consultant with over 5 years of experience in project management for high-value equipment installations in the pharmaceutical and consumer goods sectors. Proven expertise in overseeing the ramp-up of new production lines, including hot pour systems, with a focus on lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows and reduce waste. Bilingual in English and Spanish, enabling effective communication with diverse teams. Adept at identifying process gaps proactively and implementing efficiency improvements with proven productivity gains in past engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute large-scale equipment installation projects with a focus on meeting timelines and quality standards.
Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
Proactively identify process gaps and implement actionable improvements to enhance operational performance.
Collaborate with on-site teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
Document processes and prepare knowledge transfer materials for permanent staff.
Qualifications
Project Management: Has led the installation and validation of multiple hot pour lines at prior facilities, ensuring compliance with IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and seamless knowledge transfer from legacy sites. Managed cross-functional teams of 20+ members, delivering projects on time and under budget. Senior-level experience in project management, with a proven track record of managing high-value equipment installations.
- Lean Manufacturing: Strong expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies. Integrated lean practices such as standardized work and visual management tools (e.g., whiteboards) in early-stage implementations, training staff members to sustain improvements post-engagement.
- Technical Skills: Extensive hands-on experience with hot pour technology, including equipment setup, process optimization, and troubleshooting supply chain issues like raw material shortages. Familiar with seasonal workforce fluctuations and adapting operations for peak periods.
Ability to work independently and execute tasks with minimal oversight.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving process inefficiencies.
Spanish bilingual skills are highly desirable for effective communication with the workforce at Prescott and Watsonville sites.
Availability for full-time, on-site work (5 days/week).
Engagement Details
Duration: 3 months (approximate).
Start Date: Immediate.
Objective: Support equipment installation and process optimization, transitioning responsibilities to permanent staff upon project completion.
