Corporate And Tax Accounting Intern

Summary:

The Corporate Accounting Intern assists the members of the Corporate Accounting team by providing administrative support and excellent project management skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Completes a variety of activities as it relates to accounts payable and the financial statement close process.
• Performs general ledger reconciliations.
• Assists with the preparation of the Company's income tax workpapers and prepares supporting documentation for the annual tax return filings.
• Assists with the tracking and filing of mutual fund returns and various mutual fund compliance tasks.
• Provides support for various tax projects.
• Performs analytical review of financial data.
• Identifies ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the department.
• Participates in special projects as assigned by management.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled (as a rising junior or senior) in a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or MBA program.
• Evidence of challenging curriculum and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to interpret a variety of data.
• Demonstrated interest within the investment management industry is preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
